State govt to consider possibilities of setting medical college in Tirupur: Minister Vijayabhaskar

Tirupur: "Tirupur was one of the districts considered by the State government for constructing a new medical college", said Health Minister, Vijayabhaskar in Tirupur.

The Minister along with Minister for animal husbandry, Udumalai Radhakrishnan were in Tirupur Collectorate,  today to inaugurate a training camp on prevention of communicable diseases.


Talking to media persons,  Minister Vijayabhaskar said, ”Tirupur is one of the districts considered by the State government to start a medical college and necessary steps will be taken at the earliest. For the first time, MRI scan machine and breast milk bank were set up here at a cost of Rs.20.74 crore".



"In the past one year, the State government has installed 44 CT scan machines, 18 MRI scan machines, and 11 Cath lab at various Government Hospitals in Tamil Nadu", he noted.
