Police take out Flag March in Mettupalayam town in view of immersion ceremony.

Coimbatore: The Mettupalayam Police have taken out a flag march at the town to ensure the rule of law in the view of the Vinayaka idol immersion processions scheduled for tomorrow in the town. 

More than 200 Ganesh idols were sanctified and poojas offered in Mettupalayam taluk for Vinayagar Chaturthi festival.


All these Ganesh idols will be taken out in a procession through the streets and arterial roads of the town before they get immersed in Bhavani river.



More than 250 policemen led by DSP Mani took part in the march. 

Tear gas vehicle and ‘vajra vehicle’ used for crowd control were paraded during the march held.

In view of the Ganesh idol immersion, religious procession security has been beefed up in the town and additional police personnel deployed.
